1. Snowman Christmas Trees

One of the new trends taking the holiday season by storm is the snowman Christmas tree. It’s perfect for those who don’t have many ornaments. It’s also perfect if you love building snowmen.

2. Decorate Everywhere

Many people just decorate their living rooms for the holiday season because that’s where people will be when visiting. But for the holidays, you can decorate everywhere. Hang some evergreen in the mudroom, put up some mistletoe in the hallway, and decorate to your heart’s content.

3. Use White as Your Base Colour

When decorating your house, use white as your base colour. You can have a white fir tree, white walls, and even fake snow. Having white as your base allows for the colour that you do use—the red and the green—to really pop and draw everyone’s attention.

4. Have a Garland for the Table

For your holiday dining table, use an elegant garland that goes across the whole table and spills a little over the ends. It adds a festive air to the table, especially when you accessorize it with some elegant candle sticks and a little bit of garland on each person’s plate that’s tied around a napkin.

5. Trays of Goodies around the House

The holiday season is known for good food and tasty goodies. Use your goodies as decoration by putting them onto little trays around the house. Guests can snack as they mingle.

6. Minimalist Tree

Instead of putting every ornament on the tree this year, opt for a minimalist look. To up the minimalist feel, you can buy modern geometrical ornaments in one or two colours. It’ll give your tress a more unified look.

7. Use Your Wrapped Presents

Instead of working yourself into a frenzy trying to get all of your Christmas gifts wrapped on Christmas Eve, get them done ahead of time and use the wrapped presents as decoration.

8. Enjoy the Natural Look

If you’re looking to stay on trend this holiday season, rock the natural look. Use a lot of garland and evergreen boughs to decorate your house, as well as seasonal fruit. Yes, that’s right. Use some lemons, limes, and oranges in your decorating. It’ll look amazing and also smell fantastic.

9. Artificial Trees

Having a real tree looks and smells amazing, but they don’t keep well for too long. Embrace the artificial tree. Firstly, it saves trees, and secondly, you can put it up as early as you want in order to get your holiday vibe going.

10. Use a Lot of Light

Part of the reason the holidays look so magical is because of the lighting that’s used. Whether it’s the lights outside your house or the lights inside, make sure you use a lot of them. Make your house glitter and sparkle.

11. Make Your Table a Central Point

Your holiday dinner table should be one of the central points in your house. Decorate it with garland like mentioned above and bring out your best china. It’s a special time of the year and your guests should be excited to sit down at your table.

Try some of these holiday design styles and up your decorating game this holiday season.
